WooCommerce Setup Guide
How to connect your WooCommerce store
This guide walks you through generating REST API keys in your WordPress admin panel, then connecting your WooCommerce store to EagleLytics®.
What You'll Need
- A WooCommerce store with Administrator or Shop Manager access
- HTTPS (SSL) enabled on your store
- About 5 minutes of your time
Check Your Permalinks First! The WooCommerce REST API requires "Pretty Permalinks." Go to Settings → Permalinks and make sure it's set to anything other than "Plain." We recommend "Post name."
Part 1: Generate Your API Keys
Step 1: Log Into WordPress Admin
https://your-store.com/wp-admin/
Step 2: Navigate to REST API Settings
WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced tab → REST API sub-tab
Step 3: Click "Add Key"
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Description | EagleLytics® Inventory Sync |
| User | Your admin account |
| Permissions | Read/Write |
Step 4: Click "Generate API Key"
WooCommerce will display:
- Consumer Key — Starts with
ck_ - Consumer Secret — Starts with
cs_
⚠ The Consumer Secret is shown only once. Copy both values immediately.
Part 2: Connect to EagleLytics®
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Store Type | WooCommerce |
| Store Name | Any name you like |
| Store URL | https://your-store.com |
| API Key | Consumer Key (starts with ck_) |
| API Secret | Consumer Secret (starts with cs_) |
Click "Test Connection", then "Save".
Troubleshooting
"rest_no_route" or 404 error
Your permalinks are set to "Plain." Go to Settings → Permalinks and switch to "Post name."
Lost your Consumer Secret
Revoke the old key and generate a new one under WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API.
"Invalid signature" or 401
Make sure Consumer Key is in the API Key field and Consumer Secret is in the API Secret field. Verify HTTPS is enabled.
