What we check

Six checks, one answer.

Every check below runs when you add a supplier inside EagleLytics®. Running them here first saves you a surprise later.

Platform

We read the site’s signatures to identify Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Magento or Squarespace. Only these platforms can be monitored.

robots.txt

EagleLytics® crawls as EagleLyticsBot/1.0 and honours robots.txt rules and crawl-delay. If a site blocks crawlers, page-based scans will not run.

USA / Canada location

Suppliers must be based in the USA or Canada. We look at the domain and where the site is hosted.

EU business signals

Legal notices, VAT numbers, EU addresses and similar markers indicate an EU-operated business, which we do not monitor.

Blocked-domain list

Large retailers and marketplaces are on a global blocklist and cannot be added as suppliers.

Bot protection

Sites behind Cloudflare, Sucuri, Akamai or similar services block automated visitors, so scans would be blocked too.

Why some suppliers can’t be monitored

We monitor suppliers the way a careful human would.

EagleLytics® identifies itself, follows the rules a supplier publishes, and stays within the regions it is built for. That means a few suppliers are out of scope by design.

They ask crawlers to stay out

A robots.txt that disallows crawling is respected. We do not work around it.

They block automated visitors

Bot-protection services stop scans before they start. The supplier can whitelist EagleLyticsBot/1.0.

They operate outside the USA and Canada

Location and EU-business checks keep monitoring within the regions we support.

They use a custom platform

Custom-built sites have no reliable product data. Ask the supplier about an API connection instead.

FAQ

Common questions

Does checking a supplier create an account or add it to a list?
No. The check runs once, shows you the result, and nothing is stored on your behalf. To monitor the supplier you start a free trial and add it there.
The platform is supported but robots.txt blocks crawling. Can I still monitor it?
Shopify and WooCommerce suppliers expose public product APIs, which are not governed by robots.txt, so they can usually still be monitored. For other platforms we do not crawl blocked sites.
What if my supplier is on a platform you do not support?
If the supplier can give you API credentials for their store, an API connection may be an option. Otherwise, contact us and tell us which platform they use.
Why are suppliers outside the USA and Canada blocked?
EagleLytics® is built for North American dropshippers and only monitors suppliers based in the USA and Canada. Our team can review exceptions case by case.
How many suppliers can I check?
The checker is free to use. It is rate limited to a handful of checks per minute so it stays fast for everyone.
