Magento 2 Setup Guide

How to connect your Magento store

This guide walks you through creating an Integration in your Magento 2 admin panel to generate API credentials, then connecting your store to EagleLytics®.

What You'll Need

  • A Magento 2 store (version 2.3 or later)
  • Admin account with permission to manage Integrations
  • Your admin panel password (Magento asks you to re-enter it)
  • About 5-10 minutes

Part 1: Create an Integration

Step 1: Log Into Magento Admin

https://your-store.com/admin

Some stores use a custom admin URL (e.g., /backend or /panel).

Step 2: Navigate to Integrations

System → Extensions → Integrations → Click "Add New Integration"

Step 3: Fill in Integration Info

FieldValue
NameEagleLytics® Inventory Sync
Your PasswordYour current Magento admin password
Callback URLLeave blank

Step 4: Set API Permissions

Click the "API" tab. Under Resource Access, select "Custom" and check:

  • Catalog (all sub-items) — Products, categories, pricing
  • Catalog → Inventory — Stock quantities and status
  • Stores → Settings → Configuration → Inventory Section
  • Stores → Inventory → Sources — Multi-Source Inventory
  • Stores → Attributes → Product (recommended)

Easier option: Select "All" under Resource Access if the tree is confusing. You can tighten later.

Step 5: Save, Activate, and Copy Credentials

  1. Click "Save"
  2. Find your integration and click "Activate"
  3. Click "Allow" on the confirmation dialog

Magento will display four credentials:

  • Consumer Key
  • Consumer Secret
  • Access Token
  • Access Token Secret

⚠ The Access Token Secret cannot be viewed again. Copy all four values now.

Part 2: Connect to EagleLytics®

FieldValue
Store TypeMagento
Store NameAny name you like
Store URLhttps://your-store.com
API KeyConsumer Key
API SecretConsumer Secret
Access TokenAccess Token

Click "Test Connection", then "Save".

Troubleshooting

"Consumer is not authorized to access resources"

API permissions too restrictive. Edit integration and add missing resource checkboxes, or switch to "All."

Lost your Access Token Secret

Delete the old integration and create a new one.

Test Connection times out

Magento stores can be slow. Try again. If persistent, check that your server allows external API requests.
