How to connect your BigCommerce store

This guide walks you through creating API credentials in your BigCommerce admin panel, then connecting your store to EagleLytics® for automated inventory monitoring and syncing.

What You'll Need

  • A BigCommerce store with Store Owner access
  • About 5 minutes of your time
  • A EagleLytics® account

Part 1: Create Your API Credentials

Step 1: Log Into Your BigCommerce Admin Panel

Go to login.bigcommerce.com and sign in. Your admin URL looks like:

https://store-XXXXXX.mybigcommerce.com/manage/

Step 2: Navigate to API Settings

In the left sidebar: Settings (gear icon) → API section → Store-level API accounts

Step 3: Click "+ Create API Account"

Select "V2/V3 API token". Name it:

EagleLytics® Inventory Sync

Step 4: Set the Required Permissions

Step 5: Click "Save" and Copy Your Credentials

BigCommerce will show:

  • Client ID — Public identifier
  • Access Token — Secret authentication key
  • API Path — Contains your Store Hash

⚠ BigCommerce only shows the Access Token once. Copy it immediately. A .txt file will also be downloaded.

Part 2: Find Your Store Hash

From your browser: In your admin URL https://store-abc123xyz.mybigcommerce.com, the Store Hash is between store- and .mybigcommerce.com.

From the API Path: In https://api.bigcommerce.com/stores/abc123xyz/v3/, it's between /stores/ and /v3/.

Troubleshooting

403 Forbidden error

Your API scopes are too restrictive. Delete the account and create a new one with the correct scopes.

Lost your Access Token

BigCommerce only shows it once. Delete the old account and create a new one.

"Invalid credentials" on Test Connection

Make sure Client ID is in the API Key field and Access Token is in the Access Token field. Check for extra spaces.
